About Caitlin

Name (who are you).

Caitlin Scott. Owner and lead photographer of Caitlin Scott Photography. I do it all – book it, shoot it, edit it, proof it, order it, deliver it, clean it, invoice it, and bill it. I’m a Cait of all trades.

Tell me about growing up and school.
I grew up in a big family. I’m the oldest of 4. We had 3 dogs and 2 horses. The animals are a big part of our family. The dogs were constantly going crazy because of all the people coming and going. I swear our back door should have been a revolving one. People came and went by the minute (and it’s still like that today). I grew up playing tennis and played through high school and college. That was my outlet for stress because there is nothing like hitting a tennis ball 80 miles an hour to really work the stress out. I went to Cabrini College in Radnor, PA and graduated with a degree in Marketing.

So why photography then?
I do not belong behind a desk. I have way too much energy to sit behind a desk. Ever since I was little my Mom always had a camera in my face. It's something that I got used to very quickly. By the time I was 6, I had the camera in her face. I've learned so much from my Mom, and photography was just a bonus.

What kind of cameras do you use?
Currently I’m shooting with Nikon D700's.

How do you describe your photographic style?
Simple and to the point. And completely photojournalistic.

What do you do when you aren’t shooting?
I like to play with my son, Cooper, watch movies, play with my puppy, Miley, and I love to read. I love books about mystical things and love stories. I love spending time with my husband, he's fabulous. I'm usually drinking Starbucks. And if I'm not doing any of those things then I'm probably watching Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, or Big Bang Theory – those are my guilty pleasures.

What sound or noise do you love?
I love the sound of the shutter on my camera opening and closing. Anyone’s shutter really. Usually stops me in my tracks if I’m out and about. But non-photographical sound – I would have to go with the sound of a good thunderstorm on a warm Summer night.

You in 5 different words.
Mom. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Photographer.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Disney World. I was there so many times as a child. It's the one place that is never changing and always brings a smile to my face.
