It was a beautifully sunny day in early April, when Jen walked down the aisle towards her soon to be husband, Ricky. From the back of the church, I could see the smile on Ricky’s face – he was just beaming. The look in his eyes said it all. Love. Pure and simple, love.
She’s from a small town in Jersey where she spent most of her down-time at Flora Lea Farm with her best friends and her horses. He’s from another part of New Jersey where he grew up playing lots of sports and stayed out of trouble as best as he could. They met at Rider University before Ricky was deployed with the Army to Iraq. Jen and Ricky spent the long year apart talking and growing their relationship. (Absence makes the heart grow fonder, they say.) Each day they fell for each other more and more.
A short six months after he came back from overseas, Ricky drove to Jen’s house with a ring in his pocket and a question in his head. He surprised her at her house and asked her the question he’d been waiting to ask for so long. So ask he did, and yes she said. So on this amazing day in April, we celebrated with the first of 2 ceremonies for Jen and Ricky. With Ricky training to go back to Iraq, they held a civil ceremony with just their immediate family to make their marriage official. In July, we’ll be celebrating again with another wedding and a beautiful reception! We can’t wait!
Jen and I have known each other for years now and I couldn’t be happier to be asked to celebrate this day with her and Ricky. You are two of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Thanks for making us feel so welcome while celebrating your day!

Such a classic, sweet shot of Jen. She really was as relaxed and calm as she looked.
(Thanks to Genaro Orengo, my 2nd shooter for the day for capturing this one!)

Such perfection – you’re a gorgeous bride Jen!

After the ceremony, we headed over to the farm where Jen spends most of her time. The fields couldn’t have been any prettier at this time of the year. You both look stunning!

It only seemed fitting to include Jen’s horse, Dante, in pictures on her wedding day. How pretty does she look.

Thanks for letting me be a part of your first ceremony! I can’t wait for July!
(Special thanks to my 2nd shooter, Genaro Orengo, for capturing so many special moments that day!)
