Life As I Know It | A Day at the Philadelphia Zoo

Late last week, we headed to the amazing Philadelphia Zoo. Chas, Myself and Cooper + Emily, Nora and Owen + Maddie and Devin – all headed to the zoo. With much anticipation (to see the elephants that aren’t at the zoo right now due to remodeling – they are currently in Pittsburgh for anyone who wanted to know) we walked through the entire zoo. We saw all kinds of animals, even headed into the small petting zoo that they have there. And even though it was like a thousand degrees, we still had a blast. It was Cooper’s first time at the zoo – and he yelled “dog” at pretty much every animal he saw. It was amazing to see him stare into the animal’s area and look for something. When he finally realized that there was an animal in there or it started to move a little, his little eyes would just light up. His arms went flapping and if he happened to be on the ground, he did a cute little stomping dance thing. Overall – zoo was a total success. Check out some of the pictures we caught!

Jaguars like sticks too!

Nanny Emily with Owen and then again with Cooper!!
I don’t know why but I think it’s hysterical that these two pictures ended up together. My little turkey (walking on his own).
The petting part of the zoo – if only you knew how scared Emily was.And who can go to the zoo and skip riding the camels – certainly not anyone who went with us!
I think the giraffes were the overall favorites for the animals on our list to see that day….
Our pathetic attempt at a group picture – the sun was just too intense where we were standing.
Super adorable!!
Don’t forget Coop!
Medical science can’t find anything to explain why she is the way she is. But we love her anyways!!
