Lifestyle | Little “M” is 3 Months Old

When I first found out that one of my best friends was expecting, I was over the moon. Not just for her and her husband, but selfishly for me as well. I couldn’t have been more excited that she was going to have a baby, and boy did I pray that it would be a boy. Again selfishly, I wanted my little Cooper to have someone to hang out with, just like his Mom and I have each other. So when he was born, as perfect as he could be, we were ecstatic. He’s the cutest little man ever.

Fast forward 3 months – “Little M” turned 3 months old last week. I was thrilled when his Mom asked me to do his 3 month photos. He’s just a complete delight to be around. However, anytime I seem to hang out with him, he falls asleep. I don’t know if I’m the baby whisperer or just boring company!! Either way, I love being around him. I’m so very thankful to have him and his parents in our lives. And “Little M” I just adore you. (And your parents too!)

Tell me he doesn’t have the cutest little nursery ever! Hand painted border. Custom mobile from Etsy. And quite possibly the sweetest jungle bedding I’ve ever seen. Love this nursery!

Kid’s just look so darn cute “plopped and propped” in the middle of their parent’s bed. Right….

Lifestyle | Valentine’s Day Fun

A few days late is better than never. So two days before Valentine’s Day, my youngest sister, Maddie told me she wanted to do a somewhat-styled Valentine’s Day Shoot with one of her friends. She said they wanted to get all dressed up, get some balloons and just have some fun! So that’s exactly what we did. Maddie, Devon and I hopped in my car and drove around until they found a spot they liked for pictures. They found this cool open field, sort of in the woods that they just loved. (I loved it too because their bright colors just POPPED off the colors in the field!) They had a blast!! Hope you guys LOVE how they turned out. I think they’re fabulous!

Happy Valentine’s Day | Engagement Session Giveaway

WOW – Is all I have to say. Who would have thought that all your votes would have crashed my website and the voting poll’s not once, but twice! I never could have dreamed that at the end of voting there would be 953 total votes counted! I was pulling for each couple. I really do wish that each one of them could have won! They were all FABULOUS in my book and just really great people overall. Thanks to everyone that entered and all those that voted as well!

Haley and Kevin

This couple was entered into the contest by the Rutger’s Field Hockey team. Since she’s a Rutger’s Coach, they had votes coming in from every place on the campus. Any and every part of the Rutger’s campus was behind these two!! Check out their entry from the Women’s Field Hockey Team below:

Okay, so we are entering our assistant coach, Haley and her new fiance Kevin. They met in 2006 while Haley was still in school and playing field hockey at the Indiana University. Kevin had an internship with IU athletics. They briefly met at a party making the connection that they were both from California and they instantly hit it off. Kevin’s office was even right above where Haley’s team practice so she told us that she would run extra fast by his window to try to impress him. They talked and got to know each other for a few weeks until they both spilled how they really felt and things took off from there right around Haley’s birthday.

First Date: (Right from Kevin) “I would guess that it was probably the first time we went out to dinner together one on one. We went to Chilli’s (classy, I know) and, this is embarrassing, but she paid for dinner! I was literally broke (making $800 a month as an intern). To be fair, I bought the beers after dinner. Things got serious when my brothers came to visit and we all hung out for a few days. She fit right in and we were off.”

For the proposal: Last July, NYC (Also straight from Kevin)
We had discussed heading into Manhattan for dinner at BLT Prime. So we planned the date, intended to go have dinner & drinks, then take the train back home. Little did she know, that a few weeks before hand, I had gone into the Diamond District and put a down payment on an engagement ring. I had been saving for a while, and knew I was going to pop the question, but to not give away an indication of what this trip to NYC was all about, I purposefully lied about financial issues, therefore, she did think that this was going to be the night.

So, the Thursday before (we got engaged on a Saturday), I lied about going to work, and instead went into Manhattan to pick up the ring, and go visit the location where I would ask. I took a cab to The Empire Hotel and meet with their event manager. We looked at their roof top terrace and arranged for there to be champing waiting for us. Additionally, I booked us a room and brought a bag of her cloths with me and left it at t he hotel so that she could have a change of clothes.

So the big day is upon us, and we take the train in. Before dinner, we decided go have a cocktail at this awesome rooftop bar at The Empire hotel. I was not nervous until we literally got into the elevator and started heading up. Upon arriving at the roof top, the hotel manager offered us get us a drink. We walked over to the two oversized chairs that looked out into the City. I wasted no time and went for it. She said yes and the people on the at the terrace all started applauding. We sat down, enjoyed some drinks and started calling people. After this, we took some picture on the room top, checked into the hotel, and then headed out for an amazing dinner. I informed the restaurant that we were getting engaged, so they gave us a great table, complimentary champagne and dessert.

Haley is seriously just awesome, that’s the only way we can describe her. At 26 she’s like our big sister/mom and we spend countless hours with her everyday. She is so kind and caring and is SO excited about her wedding. She loves planning, and is just such a happy person all the time. In two years, we can’t recall a time when Haley was mad or unhappy about something in her life. Everytime she talks about Kevin, we can just tell how thrilled and happy she is. AND Kevin is so sweet – he comes to most of our games to support her and even moved out here with her so she could have this job. Haley would be so excited to win this contest (especially since she doesn’t even know we entered her!)

Life As I Know It | 60 Degrees in February

This Winter has been the wackiest weather I think I’ve ever experienced. I really don’t know what to expect anymore. One day it’s like I’m living in sunny South Carolina and the next it’s like I’m in Poland. Really weather, would you make up your mind?!? Anyways, on the 1st of February, it was 62 degrees here in Medford. And since I have no idea when the weather is going to turn back into REAL Winter and actually snow a little, I decided it was a perfect day for a shoot. So when Coop woke up from his afternoon nap, I took him over to see Maddie and Grandmom’s horses. It was such a treat for him. He really looks at them like they’re big dogs, it’s so cute. So I hope you enjoy these!!

Let’s pick up as much dirt as we can fit in our tubby little hands…
